Job Description: Murex Environment Expert

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Murex Environment expert maintain, and optimize Murex environments across development, testing, and production landscapes. The role requires strong expertise in environment setup, configuration management, deployment automation, and coordination across development, QA, infrastructure, and business stakeholders. The successful candidate will ensure stability, performance, and availability of Murex environments, while driving improvements in environment provisioning and release processes.
Key Responsibilities
Environment Management
Own and manage multiple Murex environments (DEV, SIT, UAT, PRE-PROD, PROD).
Ensure environments are stable, consistent, and aligned with business and project requirements.
Coordinate environment refreshes, data setup, and patch management.
Release & Deployment
Oversee deployment of Murex packages, patches, and hotfixes.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for Murex configurations and code releases.
Track environment issues and coordinate fixes with Murex support and internal teams.
Configuration & Integration
Manage Murex configuration (Datamart, workflows, reports, simulation setups).
Work closely with upstream/downstream teams for interfaces (Calypso, Summit, payment systems, risk engines).
Ensure proper environment connectivity for Front Office, Risk, Back Office, and Regulatory reporting modules.
Monitoring & Support
Proactively monitor environment performance, batch jobs, and processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve environment-related issues impacting testing or production.
Support regression and performance testing activities.
Governance & Process
Maintain detailed documentation of environment topology, refresh schedules, and versioning.
Define and enforce environment governance policies (access, change management, usage).
Implement automation and optimization to reduce environment downtime and provisioning delays.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Murex MX.3 platform (Front Office, Risk, Back Office modules).
Expertise in Unix/Linux, Oracle/SQL, and scripting (Shell, Python, Perl).
Experience in environment orchestration tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Control-M).
Familiarity with cloud-based deployments (AWS/Azure) is a plus.
Knowledge of messaging/middleware: MQ, Kafka, SFTP, APIs.
Functional Skills
Understanding of Capital Markets products (FX, Derivatives, Fixed Income, Equities).
Exposure to risk and regulatory reporting processes (VaR, PnL, LCR, FRTB).
Soft Skills
Strong coordination and communication across IT, business, and vendor teams.
Problem-solving, incident management, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
Experience
8–10 years of experience in managing Murex environments within banks or financial institutions.
Prior experience in environment management, DevOps, or release management.
Experience working with Murex vendors, offshore teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Educational Background
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field.
Certifications in Murex, DevOps, or Cloud technologies are advantageous.
